Belèm has its own identity. It is a district located near the river Tagus which conceals many sightseeing places to discover absolutely. La Tour de The Belèm tower is, for example, listed among the UNESCO World Heritage. It is a square tower richly decorated. You can notice on the Manuel style edifice some Moorish and Venitian influences, especially on the façades. The richly ornamented balconies have an excellent view on the Tagus. Near the tower, there is a 1960 monument that is a tribute to great Portuguese navigators. On the Tagus quayside, you can walk in beautiful great gardens that sometimes host high quality cultural events.
