This vast expanse of lawns links Pont Alexandre III (bridge) with the Hôtel des Invalides, built by Louis to accommodate soldiers wounded on the battle field. You can admire the view of the Grand Palais, its glasswork and the building of the Invalides. Several Universal Exhibitions have taken place here, in particular that of 1889, for which the Eiffel Tower was constructed, and the one in 1900 for which the Grand and Petit Palais were built.
