The Guggenheim Museum is the most important museum about American and European first-half XXth century Art in Italy. It is located alongside the Canale Grande inside the Palazzo Venier dei Ieoni, the former residence of Peggy Guggenheim. It was inaugurated in 1980 and contains her personal collections as well as Gianni Mattioli's collection, The Nasher sculpture garden. The museum regularly hosts temporary exhibitions.

Things to see: masterpieces of Cubism, Futurism, Surrealism, abstract Expressionism and much more. Are displayed paintings by Picasso, Braque, Duchamp, Léger, Kandinsky, Brancusi, Balla, Delaunay, Picabia, Mondrian, Miro, Giacometti, Klee, Ernst, Magritte, Dali, Pollock, Rothko.
