Providing a beautiful panoramic view over Paris, Belleville Park combines many things symbolising the history of the district: a vineyard, artificial grottoes (in the former gypsum quarries which had to be reinforced to construct the park), waterfalls and ponds to collect underground water. The vegetation is both traditional (bower, shaped box trees) and modern. The two main roads which run across the park, follow the old lines of two roads whose cobbles remain.
