This is a lively road in the chic district of Paris. It was the main road of the village of Passy. Today, it is a very commercial road with numerous fashion boutiques, bars and restaurants. The development of the village began with the arrival of the Court at the Château de la Muette. Despite its new lordly status, the village remained peaceful and rural. In 1719, there was a spring discovered which apparently had the virtue of curing sterility in women. The spot became a meeting place for lovers. The village was joined with Paris in 1825.
