Opened in 1860, the Passage des Princes links Rue de Richelieu with Boulevard des Italiens. Built at the behest of the banker Mirès, it was to be the last roofed passageway in Paris. Less lively than other covered passages, it has retained the glass rooves and metallic arches. Restored in 1995 by the insurance company AGF, the passage has kept a coloured glass dome from the 1930s period, decorated with roses. Things to see: The passage's decor which has been superbly set off The children's toy shops Nearby: Rue and the Hôtel des ventes Drouot (Drouot Auction Rooms) Place and Palais de la Bourse |
