Tate Britain, which changed its name from "Tate Gallery" in order to become differenciated from "Tate Modern", possesses the most exhaustive British art collection in the world: it comprises works from 1500 until today by Turner, Constable, Gainsborough, the Pre-Raphaelites, Scottish colourists and more recently by Bacon and some British contemporaneous artists who are regurlarly in the news. Everyone will be pleased. The temporary exhibitions are to bring artists' works into light or place a movement's works into an historical, social and artistic context. Always interesting. Take advantage of the visit to have a walk alongside the Thames and do not leave without having seen the Museum's shops.
